Mark Haney is an award winning Live Music Director and Line Producer based in Los Angeles, California. He graduated Carson-Newman College with a BA Honors in Broadcasting in 1990, and embarked on his notable career in the music industry.
Mark Haney's proven ability to work alongside a variety of artists and management teams has resulted in his successfully producing and directing live music events in over 60 countries in North and South America, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Europe. Mark is able to marry the complexities of the live show environment with the creativity, energy, enthusiasm, and experience of a seasoned professional to capture and edify the required artist vision.
Mark Haney has directed well over 1500 shows and began his career in music touring with artists Randy Travis, Alan Jackson, Melissa Etheridge, Bon Jovi, and Van Halen. Mark started directing live music to screens in 1995 for some of the biggest acts in pop, rock, and country music. The impressive artists of multiple music genres include: Britney Spears, Kenney Chesney, Luis Miguel, Barry Manilow, George Strait, Barbra Streisand, and Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance. In these projects Haney collaborated with a diverse company of creative talent like Steve Cohen, Patrick Woodroffe, Mike Swinford, and Seth Jackson. A who's who in the concert design world.
Haney's career pursuits have extended to directing and creating programming for DVD release, Television Broadcast, and Webcasting for artists such as Jay Z, The Average White Band, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Nick Cannon, Ludacris, Don Omar, Mary J Blidge, the Warped Tour, and many others.
Mark is also one of the first directors in the new media outlet of Phonecasts. He recently directed a golf video for noted teacher and author Bobby Steiner in High Definition, and has written extensively for monthly touring music industry magazine Projection, Lights, and Staging News for four years. Haney has also led and participated in various industry panels at many events including "Integrating Outside Broadcast Into Your Touring Situation" at Pro Production 2004. His ability to plan, advance, create, execute, and capture live events with other competent professionals on his team at Black Bear Productions qualify him as one of today's top young talents in shooting live music.
